A safer way to clear out old paperwork
Paperwork can build up over time. You may have old bank statements, bills, receipts, medical paperwork or personal correspondence tucked away in drawers and storage boxes. Even if you no longer need the documents, they may still contain information you’d prefer to keep private.
Putting sensitive paperwork straight into household recycling or general waste can leave personal details exposed. With a secure document bin, you have a place to keep paper documents until they’re collected for shredding.
Our bins are locked, so your documents stay protected while they’re waiting for collection. You can choose a 120-litre or 240-litre bin depending on the amount of paperwork you need to dispose of. If you’re not sure which one is right for you, tell us roughly how much paper you have and we can talk through the options.

How the service works
We’ll help arrange a bin order and collection to suit your needs. Once your documents are in the bin, it remains securely locked until it reaches our facility. Our team collects the documents and takes them for destruction at Proshred’s restricted-access, monitored facility.
There, the documents are shredded and after destruction we provide a Certificate of Destruction to confirm the documents have been securely destroyed.
That means you can clear out personal paperwork without needing to handle each page individually or worry about whether the information can still be read. After shredding, the paper is recycled once it has been rendered unrecognisable.

What can go into a document bin?
Document bins are for paper. Common household paperwork you may want to shred includes:
- Bank statements and financial records
- Old bills, receipts and invoices
- Medical records and appointment paperwork
- Tax documents and personal correspondence
- Cheque books and paper account records
Small paper fasteners such as staples and paper clips can go in with the documents. Please keep general rubbish, plastic sleeves and folders, CDs, batteries and other non-paper items out of the bin. If you have something you’re unsure about, just ask us before adding it.
Choose a size that suits your clear-out
A 120-litre bin may be a convenient option if you have a smaller amount of paperwork to dispose of. If you’ve been keeping documents for years, or have a larger clear-out planned, a 240-litre bin may be a better fit. You don’t need to guess: contact us and we can help you work out what to order.
You can also ask about arranging a collection at a time that works for you. Proshred provides service to residential customers across our service areas, including Greater Western Sydney, the Hills District, the Inner West and the Blue Mountains. If you’re just outside these areas, please ask us whether we can help.
